• We have used a common remote control

• Reverse engineering has been performed in order to understand the wave shapes associated with the keys

• We used the SftOsc v1.0 software oscilloscope written by Toshio Iwata for Windows 9x

• We discovered that each key yields 2 alternating codes that differ in the initial part

• According to the conversion rules set up by us, the code can be 13 or 14 bit long
